2001 Harley-Davidson F150 Pickup with ATI Procharger

I came to Jim Riskovsky's shop based on a referral from a very picky friend of mine. I took a ride in my friends now procharged 2001 Mustang. No words can express the neck snapping, utterly shocking power his car was producing. Today when I am asked how I feel about Jim Riskovsky’s abilities, I don’t say a word. I just ask them if they want to take a ride in my now procharged 2001 Harley Davidson F150.

Any doubt a customer can harbor about Turbo Connection is lost in a maze of tightly packed performance monsters. These projects, under construction, confirmed I was finally in the place I was looking for. I had searched for months trying to find a shop that could handle every aspect of the performance my vehicle required. I had visited numerous shops in 3 states that couldn’t begin to handle the level of expertise required to bring this project through to completion.

Jim can take any idea you have and detail all available options for you. He breaks it down so the information you have left is facts, backed up by an enormous amount of experience. For the few minutes I stood inside his shop, watching my custom work being performed, Jim solved numerous challenges brought to him by a steady stream of customers. According to the frustrated vehicle owners, other shops had labored over the same difficulties for months.

A professor of automotive performance, he is a wizard that can weave powerful spells. He made my 5000 pound monster drop jaws all over the Midwest.

It has, and will continue to be, my pleasure to have Jim Riskovsky and Turbo Connection guide my project to automotive excellence.

Mr. Jim Riskovksy:

I wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU for the very professional service I received at your shop.

As you know I own a red 1990 5.0 (SPNK-GM) that I bought about a year ago. I made some simple modifications to the car...exhaust, pulleys, K&N, etc. I had you install 3.73 gears and tune the car. The work you did was excellent and you seemed to take the time to make sure that everything was right. After that my desire (like so many 5.0 owners) to go faster hit hard. I spoke with you at some length about installing a turbo on the car. You told me my car would be down for a couple of weeks, and then about 1-2 more weeks to dial the car in. I did not want to do wihtout my car for that long. The end result you told me would put my otherwise stock car down the quarter mile at about 11.60 at 120 mph - or around in that area.  I wanted a cheaper way to go faster.

As you know from a recent phone conversation I had with you, I chose another shop to modify my Mustang. The car would be down for less time than the 4 weeks you told me, and would run in the 10 second zone. I spent a total of about $9,000 on the car, it was down for three and a half months, everything that was done was basically destroyed. The car (which was near perfect) now has dents in the fenders, has caught fire, has half the nuts, bolts, clips, and trim screws missing. Now the good part, the non-starting, idle-hunting, plug-fouling, piece of total shit that I proudly picked up WOULD NOT RUN BETTER THAN A MID 13 FALLING STRAIGHT OUT OF THE SKY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At present the car sits now in my shop, totally pulled apart, down to the short block. After adjusting the newly installed clutch quadrant to where the clutch would release, I pulled out about two table spoons worth of metal from my new Tremec. I an hoping that it lives now that it will go into gear without 200 lbs worth of force, which I was so nicely told "that's just how a new Tremec is". I am slowly returning my precious car back to a car that's worth owning. With everything fixed, and a couple of much needed engine changes, I still feel the car will pull a high 10 second pass within a few weeks.

I write this to you because it's important for others to learn from my mistake. You would have charged me about double the price on labor than the shop that did this work. Today, I would have paid you 10 times the labor not to have had this nightmare happen to my car, and my summer. Your customers get quality work at a reasonable price, and that is something YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF. Thank you very much for all the tech advice and service. I will recommend your shop to anyone that has the need to go faster. As for me, I now take time away from my paint and body shop to work on my car. If ever in the future I decide to let anyone touch one of my vehicles, you can bet it will be you.

Sincerely, Troy LaCrone
